What 248 Pieces of Paper Look Like

There's something very satisfying about printing out your manuscript and holding it in your hands. It feels very -- real. Hence the reason books will always be fabulous and those convenient E-books, though popular, will always be second-best. Haha, Kindle. Haha.

I agree. I would be devastated if books ever disappeared forever. There's just something about holding the physical pages in your hand...

But I will say, the Kindle is kind of addictive. Like book crack.

Ooo, good luck with that beast! I just finished my line edits. My head's still spinning a little.

I love holding a lot of paper! I'm afraid to print my manuscript out though; I'm running out of ink!

L&L -- They should start a support group. Kindle Users Anonymous. Ooo I want that on a t-shirt...

Nat -- I actually do my line edits on the computer. For some reason I can never do them by hand; I end up being unable to read my handwriting, so it's safer to do them on Word, then print it out for a final read-through, sans-line-edits. I should've been a doctor, the way my handwriting is so awful.

Mariah -- Printing this MS out drained my printer :( I was putting off printing it out because ink is so expensive. Alas, the sacrifices we make as writers...

I LOVE getting hard copies of my books. It makes them seem so . . . real.

My hubby printed out my very first novel at his work. When he came home and handed me the manuscript, I couldn't hold back the tears. :)

Good luck with line edits! I'll be there soon. (bleh)
