When you tell a non-writing person you sold your book and they ask when it will be out and you tell them and they say something to the effect of "Well, you must not REALLY be getting published if it takes that LONG."
Don't know if it still exists, but there used to be a newspaper comic I read and enjoyed. It was called "The Urge To Kill." It featured something a person would say, that would lead the other person to have an urge to kill the other speaker.
Your brief conversation would fit right into that Old Comic. I'm equally sure such words would give me an "Urge to kill." However, I've learned you can make the person a character in a future story, then kill off that person in the story. It's the perfect crime. Some readers have no idea what writers go through to put their book(s) in the hands of readers.
Thanks for the laugh. Thanks for bringing back an old, funny memory. Keep smiling. You're brilliant. I can see your glow from where I sit...far far away.
*gasp* People SAY that? :(
